Hooman and Michelle Mani, founders of Zily Bites, announced today that their new family-owned Brazilian restaurant (www.zilybites.com) will open its doors on September 10th, 2018, at the Thousands Oaks Shopping Center. The grand opening celebration is scheduled September 17th, 2018.

The Zily Bites concept is born both from a need for the San Antonio area lacking in a variety of Brazilian cuisine coupled with the Mani’s decades-long experience in the Brazilian food industry.

In contrast to the decadent Brazilian steakhouses in the area, Zily Bites will focus on menu items priced and sized for every day. Customers will find popular foods like Coxinhas (co-SHEEN-yas), a favorite Brazilian street food which is a boneless teardrop-shaped croquette containing chicken meat. They will also serve fresh Pão de Queijos, which are small, cheese bread rolls made from yucca flour that are a typical snack and breakfast food which are naturally corn and gluten-free. There will also be unique sandwiches, fresh fruits, squeezed to order orange juice (yum!), world-class Brazilian coffee and espresso drinks. Zily Bites will also be serving traditional potato fries as well as yucca fries cooked to perfection.

For those that have a sweet tooth, you will delight in Passion Fruit Mouse, Quindim made from coconut and egg, a variety of Brigadeiros ( Brazilian truffles ), from hazelnuts, coconut, pistachio, and a lot more flavors. The restaurant will have many items that are corn and gluten-friendly available immediately and the owners have plans to continually add more menu items over the next few months.

The restaurant will be opened for lunch and dinner Monday – Friday 7:00am – 7:00pm and Saturday  8:00am – 5:00pm. Zily Bites will also offer a catering menu that you can pre-order for events and meetings.
